She has guided strategic business initiatives for private and public companies while also overseeing Board governance, mergers and acquisitions, real estate portfolios, complex commercial transactions, IP, litigation, and employment matters.
“IEX is extremely excited to bring on Rachel Barnett as Chief Legal Officer at a pivotal time for the growth of our Exchange and technology businesses,” said IEX Co-Founder and CEO, Brad Katsuyama. “Rachel’s impressive background covers numerous aspects of the legal profession. She has experience as a board member and general counsel of a publicly traded technology company, and as a skilled litigator of complex financial securities cases. We are thrilled Rachel has joined the leadership team and look forward to working closely with her.”
Barnett began her career in private practice as a securities litigator at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, where she specialized in representing corporations and their officers and directors in a variety of complex litigation matters. She then spent five years as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Travelzoo, where she advised executives on a broad range of legal and commercial matters, including corporate governance, strategic planning, international acquisitions, and SEC compliance. Most recently, Barnett was General Counsel and Secretary at Brooks Brothers and a member of the company’s executive leadership team.

“I’m thrilled to join IEX at this exciting time for the company as they grow both the Exchange and other technology businesses,” said Rachel Barnett of her new role at the company. “IEX has an enormous opportunity to bring innovation and disruption to many different industries. I am delighted to bring my skills and experiences with technology companies and securities litigation to the leadership team as they continue to push for positive change that empowers investors and end-users alike.”
Barnett started with the company on March 16. She will report to the CEO and Co-Founder of IEX, Brad Katsuyama.
